The National Fire Academy (NFA) has opened the application window for those interested in being considered for the Managing Officer Program. The deadline to apply is April 15 and courses will begin in fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 – September 2023).
The NFA’s Managing Officer Program is a multiyear curriculum that introduces emerging emergency services leaders to personal and professional skills in change management, risk reduction, and adaptive leadership. Acceptance into the program is the first step in your professional development as a career or volunteer fire/emergency medical services manager and includes all four elements of professional development: education, training, experience, and continuing education.
There is NO FEE for anyone to attend this program. Your cost is meals while on campus and your time. For those accepted in the program, the NFA will reimburse for travel, provide housing and classroom materials, deliver a world-class professional development experience, and enable you to develop a network of peers from around the nation.
